My Story

Erica Turner: Relationship Therapist & Dating Coach

Whether you're single, dating, in a relationship, or somewhere in between, my work is ultimately about helping you become someone you can rely on, so that your sense of security, self-worth, and inner peace no longer depends on how someone else is showing up.

Because the truth is, you can learn how to communicate better, set stronger boundaries, choose healthier partners, and understand your relationship patterns, and still find yourself feeling anxious, overthinking, people-pleasing, or abandoning yourself when you're afraid of losing someone.

I know this because I've lived it.

For years, I looked outside of myself for the security I didn't yet know how to create within myself. I struggled with anxious attachment and codependent patterns, and I found myself caught in cycles of unfulfilling relationships, tolerating things that didn't feel good, and trying desperately to convince other people to become who I needed them to be.

My turning point came when I finally realized that the answer wasn't getting someone else to change.

It wasn't finding the perfect partner who would finally make me feel secure.

It was becoming the source of my own security.

I had to stop abandoning myself in an attempt to keep other people. I had to learn how to trust myself, listen to my own needs, honor my boundaries, regulate my emotions, and make choices from self-trust rather than fear.

And that changed everything.

It changed the way I showed up in relationships. It changed the way I made decisions. It changed what I was willing to tolerate. And ultimately, it changed the relationship I had with myself—and the kind of love I was able to create.

That personal transformation is what led me to this work.

I completed my graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and became a licensed therapist before becoming a certified coach. Today, I bring together my clinical education, professional training, coaching expertise, and my own lived experience to create an approach that goes deeper than simply teaching you what to do differently.

Because knowing what to do isn't always enough.

Real transformation happens when you understand why you keep abandoning yourself, uncover the deeper patterns that are driving your behavior, and learn how to become someone you can finally trust and rely on.

My work is about helping you move from outsourcing your emotional security to becoming the source of it.

From asking:

"How do I get them to change?"

to:

"How do I show up for myself, no matter what they choose?"

From:

"What do I need to do to make sure they don't leave?"

to:

"Can I trust myself to stay with me, no matter what happens?"

This is the work I wish I had known how to do sooner.

And it's the work I'm honored to guide my clients through today.

You don't have to become less sensitive, less loving, or less invested in order to feel secure.

You don't have to stop wanting love.

You simply have to learn how to stop abandoning yourself in the pursuit of it.

Because the safest relationship you'll ever build is the one you have with yourself.

And when you become someone you can finally rely on, you don't just change the way you experience relationships.

You change the way you experience your entire life.
